3DFoundry’s Eden
Hi!
My name is David.
I am French and into Heavy Gear since 20 years now.
I even 3D sculpted some models for Dreampod 9 like the Hussar or the Drake amongst others when I was a Freelance 3D Artist.
I am now here to present your my Eden Force consisting on 9 models :
2 centaurs hover golems with the jousting poles upgrade.
2 warlocks
2 Griffins vtol golems
2 Animus
1 Gargoyle
I have been choosing the weapon load out using the rule of cool more than anything else since those miniatures were more of a painting project for me 🙂
The only thing to mention about modeling is that I converted one Warlock to have a jumping pose and glued the Eden banner pole to him. This element came with the Griffin model.
About Painting Now
I got inspired with the Blue/White colorscheme of some Eden Art in the Heavy Gear Blitz 3.1 Rulebook.
I undercoated the models in black and then applied a zenithal highlight with light gray.
I then drybrushed the model in white.
I then used Contrast Paints for most of the color blocking and combined with the previous step I managed to get the figures to look like something pretty fast.
Slapshop somebody ?
I then carefully edge highlighted the miniatures before to apply some checker and marking decals on them.
For the weathering I used a sponge and some black paint to give a used and battled look to the mechs as well as some orange pigments on the feet.
The bases are simply a sand effect texture paint that I applied to look like waves. I painted them in tones of orange and drybrushed them with yellow.
It you want to see some other miniatures I painted here is my Instagram Account @3dfoundry where I post stuff regularly
