The Hunter Commando Brings Company

HACS-01MG-HC/EW HUNTER COMMANDO EW

The Hunter Commando EW was developed shortly after the basic Commando to provide electronic warfare coverage and countermeasures to deep-insertion paratrooper teams. The Commando EW began as a field modification initiated by the technicians of the Northern Guards 1st Airborne division, who cannibalized the electronic warfare pods from Wild Ferret electronic warfare Gears for their use. The use of these pods allowed commando teams to both knock out the command and control systems of the enemy units they were targeting – rapidly paralyzing a whole defensive sector on at least one occasion in TN 1832 – and to maintain inter-unit communications when faced with enemy electronic warfare tactics. TO make room for the pod, the standard Commando was stripped of it’s RP-209 rocket pod and grenade launcher, but maintained all its other weapons and reinforcements. This made it a deadly opponent as well as a specialist machine. As the Hunter line has been upgraded, so has the electronics package of the Commando EW. In TN 1928, the standard ECM/ECCM pod was changed for the Terringer 5615 DA pod developed for the weasel, whose production had been delayed. Some pilots, however, prefer to use pods captured from enemy Chatterbox Gears.

Southern Camouflage Patterns

While the majority of Terra Nova is covered in badlands and desert, the Northern and Southern regions have a diverse range off woods, prairies, jungles and swamps. Unsurprisingly, Terra Nova forces will paint their equipment to blend into the environment, so while you might normally see South in shades of green, if they’re fighting in the Badlands, they’re going to stick out. The Black Knight Draws Near…

Ar’tur Carranagh, Animus Golem

Not much information exists on “The Black Knight”, the excuse given by the Seiath empire is due to a damaging of family record archives during the CEF invasion of Eden. What is known is that he is a high ranking Seiath noble, appearing to be a middle aged man with greying hair and golden eyes, a mark of greatness in Edinite culture. Despite being so marked for great things at an early age, most Edenites, and by all accounts the Black Knight himself, consider him cursed due to the high fatality rate of his duels and appearances at the Tourney, even though he currently stands undefeated.

The Longbow Blitz Jäger is a Walking Arsenal

OACS-01M/HAS Longbow Blitz Jäger

While the standard Longbow Jäger relied a great deal on finesse, sometimes style has to be sacrificed in exchange for effect. Some targets are just too well protected to be taken out by the Longbow’s standard weapon complement, which led to the development of a hybrid model built with parts from both the Longbow and the Blitz Jäger. Using battle-tested equipment cut down on both the development time and maintenance cost, resulting in a sturdy machine with predictable service capabilities. The Longbow’s standard rifle was replaced by a standard heavy autocannon, and the light mortar was replaced by a sturdier and more powerful field model to provide increased are effects; this results in an increased ability for the Longbow Blitz to eliminate enemy commanders and other valuable assets. The final fallback weapon is a single shoulder-mounted anti-tank missile, which replaces the usual anti-personnel grenade launcher. Designed with the shy target in mind, the single missile will allow the Longbow Blitz an almost assured kill regardless of the enemy commander’s precautions (assuming, of course, that the mission is well-planned).

The Agamemnon Thunders into Battle

PA-AX01 AGAMEMNON

If war were to break out between the North and the South, repercussions upon the Badlands would be unavoidable. Seeing the tensions build between the polar powers, the probability of conflict became a forgone conclusion. In preparation, Peace River and Paxton Arms began vehicle research and development in earnest.

L. Derek Evans, regarded by many to be a Gear design prodigy, was assigned to lead the Agamemnon team. Within three seasons, the first of the Agamemnon prototypes had been built. The armor necessary to meet the design’s required specifications was too heavy, and so Jean Robertson developed a special composite material for the design which proved lighter and more resilient than the armor used on the other Elite designs. Unfortunately the cost and labor involved in manufacturing the new composite prevent the replacement of the armor on the other designs with the Robertson composite until a more efficient manufacturing process is devised.

Northern Camouflage Patterns

The different armies of Terra Nova are known to adopt camouflage patterns on their gears for combat when fighting in different environments. Today we’re showing off some of the canonic patterns used by Northern forces.

Desert and Badlands

Primarily brown, khaki, and ochre shades give a variety of options when creating paint schemes that are at home in the vast deserts and badlands on Terra Nova.

The Jaguarundi Stalks Again

HACS-02MG-ANN Jaguarundi

The Jaguarundi was designed to be a heavy scout capable of maneuvering across broken terrain while maintaining a good speed. The machine was originally planned by Northco to be competitive with the higher end Shaian Mechanics Gears such as the Strike Cheetah. To save on development cost, the Northco engineering team turned to one of the firm’s most agile designs, the relatively recent Jaguar, as the basic chassis. By reducing its armor and increasing its running speed through newer actuators inspired by the Nemesis Jaguar’s, the modified Jaguar, now somewhat reduced in size and mass, showed a greatly improved physical performance curve. The final product, however, was slower than the Strike Cheetah and much more expensive. Most of the expense came from its improved control systems, which were based on captured NNet designs dating back to the War. While the machine did perform well, its learning curve proved to be somewhat erratic.
